The customer in this case was using spray nozzle to make coating by butter. They were considering to reduce production cost and prevent splash of butter to equipment due to increasing of butter cost.

Although they were considering to change nozzle model with our competitor without big change of equipment, they finally contacted EVERLOY as it did not go well.

Solution

We need to propose spray nozzle which can improve reduce production cost and prevent splash of sprayed butter. After inspection of the nozzle which customer was using, uneven uniformity causes production loss and splash. So we suggested special nozzle which is uniformity was customized.

Trial

We measured current flow distribution as first step and estimated overall distribution with five nozzles same as equipment. Then we improved flow distribution by prototyping.

Result

Customized uniformity by EVERLOY improved 20% butter consumption. Also, butter splash to equipment was less than before, then customer could shorten equipment cleaning time. This was one of difficult challenges because spray liquid was butter which is high viscosity.
