Challenges

A rotary printing press is a printing press in which the images to be printed are curved around a cylinder. It can print with high speed and double-sided multicolor printing also, be used for mass printing such as newspaper. Spray nozzle is used for it to make printing plate wet so ink does not apply the unnecessary area.

If spray uniformity was uneven, printing quality is down. A competitor's nozzle which is uneven uniformity was installed on the rotary printing press in this case, then it was creating printing error frequently.
Customer contacted some nozzle manufacturers who can supply spray nozzle which can improve printing quality and make printing error less. Then they have reached to EVERLOY finally as competitors could not fulfill customer's demand.

Solution

As a result of water flow distribution measurement test of competitor's nozzle, it was same uniformity as our standard nozzle which is parabolic shape. We have assumed to make uniform distribution by using our standard nozzle because parabolic uniformity was creating printing error in this issue, then we have proposed special nozzle customed uniformity.

Trial

We figured out current situation and the issue to be fixed. After repeating couple of trial and error, we could develop spray nozzle with optimal water flow distribution.
